Weekend Ideals 6/24/2016

Yall, it is HOT here in Middle Tennessee. I want to curl up on my couch in my air conditioning and catch up on all those shows I've been missing...(really I've been binging on The Office again. It never gets old for me.) Weekends can be a free for all as far as food and planning go. 

But I have some big goals I want to reach. I have a family hiking trip coming up, and I'm about 30 pounds away from being about to zip line. What the What? 30 pounds is realistic and I can do that. Here's the deal though, I tend to go overboard and create action plans that have about 50 steps. It works for a few days then it's a free for all once I round the corner. 

So today, I'm focusing on my weekend. And here is what  I'm working on.

Relying on my crew. I have wonderful, active people in my life. My husband, a friend, and I are going kayaking tomorrow. This is totally new to me and there are parts of my body I never knew could hurt like they do. But it's fun. Dad and I are hiking early on Sunday in continued prep for the family hiking trip. I have a few other dear friends that I can usually hike with on the weekend. I love the accountability and the fun reason to catch up on one anothers lives. 

Staying Hydrated. And that doesn't mean decafe iced americanos. Cold water and lots of it is this weekends food focus. I struggle with plan water, but I love lemon water. So I'll be adding some sliced lemon and going with it.

Getting Sleep, like actual lay in the bed sleep. I went to bed at 7:30pm the other night. I realized I was tired, grumpy, and my head hurt. Then I looked at my stats from the night before and I'd clocked in about 3 hours of sleep. People, not good. My average for the week has been 5-6 hours. I need actual rest. I need to sleep and get actual rest. 

And finally, Planning out my next week.  Planning action and meals simply works. If I do food prep I eat so much better for the week. If I know what days I'm going for long walks before or after work, I move so much more. And it creates a place of win for my week.
