I LOVE New Years Eve and New Years Day. It's a chance to start the clock over, both figuratively and literally. I like planning my next year and thinking of things I want to accomplish. Yep, I'm one of "those" people.
Last year I focused on hiking mileage. 201.6 trail miles to be exact. I used my goal to push myself when I had blisters, or my back hurt from carrying a heavy pack. And, it was FUN. I had a great time hiking. I made new friends, reconnected with old friends, and saw beautiful things. It's been pretty incredible.
This year I'm focusing on a word: Connect
I want to connect with my tribe, family, friends, and people more.
I want to connect with myself more. What makes me happy, makes me push myself, and makes me focus.
Also, other things I want to do in 2017:
Hike in 5 different states. Take 4 hikes over 10 miles. Get a budget worked out. Clean out my closet, for real. Be more consistent with my writing. And, most importantly, be realistic that I can't do it all. And that's okay.
Have you set a word for yourself for the year? Do you do resolutions? What are you hoping for 2017? Happy New Year!
